Biblibuddy uses a Flask session cookie when a user signs in or moves through authenticated parts of the app. That cookie is used for things like:
These cookies support functions the user has actively requested. They are not used to track browsing behaviour, build marketing profiles, or measure advertising performance.
Biblibuddy does not run Google Analytics or similar site-tracking tools. There is no analytics banner because the app is not asking visitors to opt into tracking; the site only uses necessary sign-in and session cookies.
If a user chooses Google or LinkedIn sign-in, those providers may also use their own cookies on their own domains during the authentication flow. Those are separate from the first-party cookies set by Biblibuddy itself.
In other words: Biblibuddy itself is not using cookies for tracking, but the external identity provider may use its own cookies while completing the login step the user requested.
